A new anime series for The Quintessential Quintuplets has been announced as a TV special. This upcoming series, titled The Quintessential Quintuplets ∽, will adapt the original Fuutarou’s Summer Arc that was not covered in the previous anime. The release date for this new series has been set for the summer of 2023. In addition, there will be a limited-time theatrical screening of the new anime for three weeks in Japan, starting on July 14, 2023. A new key visual has also been revealed.
The story of the new Quintessential Quintuplets TV special centers around Fuutarou, the main character, during his final summer vacation before graduating high school. Fuutarou informs the quintuplets that he will be taking a break from his part-time tutoring job to focus on his upcoming test. The Nakano quintuplets are disappointed that they won’t see Fuutarou before their graduation. However, they receive a phone call from Fuutarou, changing everything.
The new Quintessential Quintuplets series will feature two theme songs, the opening song “Gotoubun no Mirai” and the ending song “Takaramono”, both performed by the quintuplets. An album containing both songs has been announced, as well as the songs “The Only One in the World” from the upcoming game The Quintessential Quintuplets: My Five Promises With Her and “My Hero” from The Quintessential Quintuplets: Gotopazu Story.
It should be noted that Mages has announced a delay for The Quintessential Quintuplets: Gotopazu Story, which will now be released in June 2023. The company also revealed the game’s opening animation.
